Tiny Charger…Big Power
With Mother’s Day fast approaching, I decided this year to begin my online browsing for a gift for my lovely wife from the kids a little earlier. After weeding through several web pages offering something “different” for moms this year, I came to the realization that the marketplace for Mother’s Day is beginning to look very eerily similar to Father’s Day, offering crazy gizmos and gadgets as an alternative to neckties and flowers. Most of what I saw would not only be considered tacky by most, but would disappoint my wife more than if she received a vacuum as a reward for bringing five children into this world. However, I did manage to come across something that would be very useful given our current situation. At least it seems useful in my head.
We have an older vehicle that doesn’t like to start in the rainy weather. Mind you, some may consider it a junker, but who could turn down a free 1988 Ford Escort with only fifty thousand miles on it? With the way gas prices have been, it has become the run-around-town vehicle of choice. Both my wife and I have been stranded several times in the pouring rain on the side of the road trying to solicit a passer-by to offer their engine for a jump start. This always turns out to be a very miserable situation, and thankfully it is not the family car and the kids normally do not have to suffer. Anyways, in this day and age not everyone is so helpful, and I often travel for work and am not always available to come to her rescue. Hence, I believe my wife will be receiving a Porta-Jump Emergency Car Jumpstarter as thanks for being a mom this year.
Sure, it is a mouthful to say, but this unbelievable jumpstarter is small enough to fit in your glovebox. It simply charges your battery through the 12-volt cigarette lighter socket, giving your engine enough umphh to turn over and get you back on the road. It requires absolutely no cables, no standing out in the rain trying to flag down unhelpful motorists, and the best thing is it can be used over and over unlike those emergency battery chargers that are typically a one-time deal. And all of this for the great price of $24.95, how can you go wrong?
Short of sounding like an infomercial, you should go visit their website (http://www.porta-jump.com) for this great little gadget and their special offers. I have also included their video presentation below. Of course, my talking this product up is only based upon my observations at the moment. I am sure my wife will love opening this baby up during her Mother’s Day breakfast, and I will have an experience-based opinion in a few short weeks. Until then, guys, you may want to consider this little guy as your big present this year. However, be prepared to stock the couch with an extra pillow and blankets just in case.
