Kick Off The Summer Right With This Must Have Multi-tool.
Well, today is unofficially the first day of summer. The Friday before Memorial Day kicks off what I am guessing is the most grilling weekend of the year. Every household in America is one way or another going to a picnic, a family gathering, or some sort of event where some schmo (usually me) gets stuck sitting in front of the grill cooking food while everyone else has the time of their life. I don’t mind it, really. Besides getting covered in grease spit, burning all the hair off my arms, and not really getting a chance to eat, it’s a fine job. At least this multi-tasking grill chef’s tool will make it a little easier when I am flipping burgers.
My biggest complaint about grilling is not the hamburgers or hotdogs; those are pretty self explanatory. But the chicken and ribs start to freak me out a bit. I guess it is the unsure time or temperature to cook it at to ensure it is thoroughly done. I am always getting called away from the grill while cooking to help a child in need, or to get more beer from the basement. This is where I start to lose all track of everything, and the food either is charcoal, or undercooked because I don’t want to burn it. With the Grill Tek Grilling Multi-tool, i will at least stand a chance as far as keeping track of the proper times.
It hangs around your neck with the attached lanyard, and allows you to keep track of time and even set an alarm. Now I can be alerted when it is time to flip. As if that wasn’t enough, it also has a bottle opener so I can at least open the guests’ beers while standing there grilling, a utility knife to cut some fat or open the hotdog pacakages, and an LED light if I want to have an all night grillfest. It even has a whistle to let everyone know to “Come and get it!” It runs on batteries, which come with it by the way, and has a nice looking appeal to it so it won’t clash with my “Kiss the Chef” apron. It’s cheap enough to where it won’t break the bank, either.
Maybe I will look forward to grilling this summer as long as I have this around my neck. It does leave open some interesting opportunities, though. If my food isn’t good enough, they could try to hang me from the lanyard. If they complain too much, I am not sure I can be so trusted with the utility knife. We will just have to test it out and see. Wish me luck, and have a great Memorial Day weekend!
