Live Like a Soprano In Your Own Cubicle.
Everybody wants to be a gangster, right? I know I watch the Godfather movies and Sopranos episodes, wishing a part of me could live a fraction of their lifestyle: danger, money and power. My sensible side knows not to follow those footsteps because of the ramifications of such activity. However, it would still be fun to give it a try. Sometimes I often ponder this thought at my desk, as I daydream while spacing out in front of my blank computer screen. Being stuck in a cubicle is no way to live for anyone. With the constant surge of office toys making their way into the scene, I always find myself facinated at what they have to offer. And the Downtown Shootout desktop game is perfect for my Johnny Dangerously desired lifestyle.
The game comes with a pistol, two henchmen and a boss. The gangsters are attached with a 15′ wire per gunman, allowing you to set them up all over your desk. You aim the electronic gun at these bad boys, pull the trigger, and the sensor on them will let you know if you hit them or not. But be careful, these guys shoot back at random, keeping you on your toes. They even speak, taunting you as you try to knock them down. You get ten bullets before you have to aim down and re-load. The gun makes real sounds, so you can even take in a bit of enjoyment as you watch the office manager duck for cover behind the copier when you start gameplay. There are three levels of difficulty, making it addicting to play. Plus, with unlimited configurations, you can strategically place the wise guys peeking out behind the monitor, crouching below the speakers, or huddling around the mouse making it even harder on yourself. Keep a running tally of all your office mates’ scores and times. It’s better than the typical football pool.
As always, I am going to keep my eyes open for the coolest office toys available. I think this one is an instant classic. Who wouldn’t want to take out a few bad guys on the company’s dime? Pretend you are from a rival family, or be a straight arrowed beat cop trying to acheive hero status. The choice is yours. Whatever you deciede, just have fun. remember, its just work.
