Wii Fit Puts Excercise Into Video Games.

Published by cjmullin at 1:51 am under Electronics, Gaming Devices, Uncategorized

My kids have been bugging me for a Wii since the day it was announced. I have already missed two Christmases trying to get in line to purchase one, to no avail. Apparently, everyone in their school has one but them, and I am actually starting to believe that. I think video games are a way to waste time that could be spent being outside. I know this is very hippocritical of me, because I spent days straight playing these darn games when I grew up. I think this might be what my mom meant by payback someday, but I am not sure. Well, as I look more and more into this Wii thing, I am starting to see that it may not be what I originally thought: some high-tech sit on their butt kind of game. This looks like you have to move around to play the game. Now, knowing this, I may have to eat crow and surprise them. In addition to all of the sports games, they just came out with this Wii Fit, which looks like it gets more excercise than a Taebo video. Check it out!

Now apparently there are different settings on this, so you can go from novice to all star pro to heart attack mode (these aren’t the technical terms, of course). You can get more details by going to their website. I am sure if and when I get this for them, I will end up using it just as much, if not more. Maybe I will work myself into shape, but I still think it is just a video game. Perhaps I will be proven wrong and end up in the ER with a coronary.
