Warm Up The Workplace

I have had several job over my professional career, and each one has been full of interesting people. But no matter which one I think of, there was always one or two of the “older” generation employees stationed near my cubicle and would complain more than not about the chilly damp office air. If it was summer, when the outside temperature was blazing near 100, these people would complain the air conditioning was too high. And in the winter months? Forget it! A lot of times they would use those under the desk heaters, but somebody smart realized they were a fire hazard and outlawed them from the office environment. If only I were still there with these people, i would have purchased this USB heated shawl just to keep them quiet, I mean happy.

Ever since the USB port on your PC has become a power source, office gadgets have been popping up left and right. I think this one is a little on the “weird” side, but there clearly is a necessity for them. When you plug in the shawl, you get instant warmth over your shoulders. A convenient snap holds it in place as you work away the hours. Now, I have checked a few websites for these, only to find out that they are selling out like crazy. So I must not be alone in my stories of the soon-to-be-retired co-workers and their picky temperature preferences. If you know someone like this, or are fortunate enough to work in an office full of them, get your credit card ready and order away. Throw an early office holiday party and hand them out one by one, and enjoy a winter without bickering over the thermostat.
